This Privacy Policy explains how My Estate Plan ("My Estate Plan," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the My Estate Plan application and this website.
1. Our privacy approach
My Estate Plan is designed as a local-first estate-planning organization tool. The core App does not require you to create an account. Estate-planning information you enter into the App is intended to be stored locally on your device rather than in a central account operated by us.
2. Information you enter into the App
The App may allow you to enter people, relationships, assets, approximate values, beneficiary information, planning decisions, personal intentions, documents, records, trust-funding information, tasks, notes, and review information. This information is intended to remain on your device as part of the App's local data storage.
3. Attached files
If the App allows you to attach files, those files are stored locally within the App's storage on your device. When you use iOS sharing or file-management features to export, save, or share a file, the file may be transferred according to the destination and services you choose.
4. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The core App is not designed to require advertising identifiers or behavioral advertising in order to function. We do not sell your estate-planning information to advertisers. If future versions introduce analytics, third-party services, or other data-processing features, this policy may be updated to describe them.
5. Website information
This website is primarily informational. GitHub Pages or other hosting infrastructure may process technical information such as IP address, browser information, request logs, and other information necessary to operate and secure the hosting service. Those practices are controlled by the hosting provider's policies.
6. Support communications
If you contact us for support, we may receive information you choose to provide, such as your email address, device or App details, and issue description. We use it to respond to your request and provide support.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share the estate-planning information stored locally in the App with third parties because the core App is not designed to transmit that information to us.
8. Data retention and deletion
Because core planning data is stored locally, you control deletion through the device and App mechanisms available to you. Deleting the App may remove locally stored App data, subject to Apple's operating-system behavior and copies you exported or backed up elsewhere.
9. Children's privacy
My Estate Plan is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the core App.
10. Security
We design the App around local storage and minimizing unnecessary collection. No device, operating system, storage method, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for device security, passcodes, backups, and access controls.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, website, or our practices change. The date above indicates the current version.
