This Privacy Policy explains how Gymothee ("Gym Log & Workout Tracker," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Workout Tracker application.
Gymothee is designed as a local-first workout tracking application. The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use its core functionality.
1. Information We Collect
Information you enter into the App
Gymothee allows you to record information such as:
- Exercise names
- Exercise categories
- Weights
- Repetitions
- Cardio distances
- Cardio durations
- Workout dates and sessions
- Exercise history and other workout-related records
- Your selected measurement units
- Your App settings, such as your preferred appearance
Some of this information may relate to your health or fitness activities. You decide what information to enter.
Personal information
Gymothee does not require you to provide information such as:
- Your name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Postal address
- Account credentials
- Date of birth
- Payment information
The App does not require an account or user registration for its core functionality.
2. How Your Workout Data Is Stored
Your workout records and App settings are stored locally on your device.
We do not operate a server that receives or stores your workout records as part of the App's normal operation.
Because your workout records are stored locally, deleting the App or otherwise removing its local application data may result in the loss of workout records that have not been exported or otherwise backed up.
3. CSV Export
Gymothee provides a CSV export feature that allows you to export your workout records.
When you use this feature, the App creates a CSV file containing your workout information. On iOS, the file is temporarily prepared on the device and the iOS sharing interface is opened.
The exported file is not automatically transmitted to us.
If you choose to save or share the file using Apple's sharing interface or another application, the information in that file may be transferred to or stored by the service or application you select. That subsequent handling is governed by the privacy policy and terms of that third party.
You are responsible for deciding where you save or share an exported file.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise monetize your workout records.
Gymothee does not intentionally transmit your workout records to us for advertising, analytics, profiling, or other commercial purposes.
When you explicitly use iOS's sharing functionality to export your workout data, you control the destination of the exported file.
The App may also rely on Apple's operating-system functionality and third-party software components required to provide the App's technical functionality. Those components operate according to their respective terms and privacy practices.
5. Advertising and Tracking
Gymothee does not use advertising networks to display advertisements within the App.
Gymothee does not intentionally track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
The App does not use an advertising identifier for behavioral advertising.
6. Analytics
Gymothee does not intentionally send your workout records or personal information to an analytics service.
We may introduce technical services or analytics in a future version of the App. If our data practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and our applicable App Store privacy disclosures before or when those changes take effect.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Because Gymothee stores workout records locally on your device, we do not maintain a central copy of those records that we can independently delete.
You can manage your workout records through the App's available functionality.
You can also delete the App and its associated local application data through your device's normal operating-system controls. Before doing so, you should export any information you wish to retain.
Exported CSV files are outside the control of Gymothee once you save or share them to another location.
8. Security
Gymothee is designed so that workout records remain on your device during normal use rather than being transmitted to our servers.
However, no software or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should maintain appropriate device security, including the security mechanisms provided by your operating system.
9. Children's Privacy
Gymothee does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account-registration or online data-collection system.
Because the App's core workout records are stored locally on the user's device, we do not receive those records merely because they are entered into the App.
Parents or guardians should determine whether the App is appropriate for a child in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the child's use.
10. Third-Party Services and Components
Gymothee uses software components necessary to package and operate the App on supported platforms, including Apple's iOS frameworks and Capacitor components.
The App uses:
- Capacitor Filesystem functionality for preparing exported files on the device.
- Capacitor Share functionality for presenting the device's sharing interface.
These components are used to provide App functionality and do not, by themselves, mean that Gymothee sends your workout records to the developer.
Third-party services that you independently choose to use when sharing or storing an exported file may process information according to their own privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our practices, or applicable requirements.
When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.
For material changes to our data practices, we will take reasonable steps to provide appropriate notice.
